Wireless Washtenaw Update – November 2007

20/20 Communications remains active in their pursuit of financing for the project. Deploying wireless service throughout Washtenaw County is expected to cost approximately $20 million, all of which must come from private investors. Over the course of the next month 20/20 has meetings scheduled with both local and national investors to discuss financing options. Overall, they remain optimistic that they will be able to secure sufficient funding by the end of the year in order to begin deployment in some of the rural communities.

At the same time, 20/20 continues to identify and secure access to existing infrastructure within the community so that they can rapidly deploy service once financing is secured. Once secured, county-wide deployment is expected to be completed within one year.
