Summer 2006 Timelines
On June 15th the Wireless Washtenaw Advisory Board accepted the recommendation of 20/20 Communications as the preferred private sector partner for the Wireless Washtenaw project. The recommendation to move forward with 20/20 Communications will now go before the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners for their final approval on August 2nd, 2006.
To prepare for this meeting and expedite pilot deployment, the project team is in the process of finalizing a Provider Agreement with 20/20 Communications. This agreement will describe the nature of services to be delivered through the Wireless Washtenaw network and the conditions attached to those services.
Once the contract is signed by both parties, 20/20 Communications will begin deploying three pilots throughout Washtenaw County. The locations for these pilots will be determined at the August 2nd meeting.
Projected Timelines (pending timely approval of the Provider Agreement)
- August 2006 – Pilot Deployment
- October 2006 – Pilot Evaluation
- November 2006 – County-Wide Deployment Begins
- End of 2007 – County-Wide Deployment Complete
