Wireless Washtenaw Update – December 2007

20/20 Communications continues discussions with private equity investors to secure financing for the project. Deploying wireless service throughout Washtenaw County is expected to cost approximately $20 million, all of which must come from private investors. Approximately 20% of the total deployment cost is required in order to begin county-wide deployment. Informal commitments have been received for partial funding, with 20/20 working to secure the remaining balance.

In the meantime 20/20 Communications has added technology in the Manchester community that will expand coverage from approximately 7 to 28 sq. miles. This is a limited expansion by 20/20 to demonstrate their commitment to the project. A more detailed announcement will be released in the coming days.
